James Cameron’s Avatar will replace Titanic in record books as the highest-grossing film of all time. It has sold $1.841 billion worth of tickets worldwide as of January 24, Sunday, and just $2 million away from surpassing the $1.843 record set by Titanic in 1997. It’s just a matter of 1 day or so that it will surpass and erase the seemingly unsinkable record.
Here’s top 5 US Box Office Estimates for the Weekend of Jan. 22-24, 2010:
1. Avatar – $36,000,000
2. Legion – $18,200,000
3. The Book of Eli – $17,000,000
4. The Tooth Fairy – $14,500,000
5. The Lovely Bones – $8,800,000
Question is, Can Avatar also surpass Titanic’s wins at the Oscars? Comment what you have in mind.

Avatar is one of my favorite movies last 2009. I watch it in 3D IMAX. It can be said that it is a must watch movie. The cinematography, sound effects, editing special effects; all are just excellent. The director has shown innovation in creating the Nav’s. These blue complexioned, monkey types elements are excellently featured in this film. Sam Worthington is wonderful.

Avatar was a great movie, I just watched it a few day ago. I don’t usually go to the theather because I get nervious around a lot people but I think I’ll give this one a shot because people are saying that it’s even better on the big screen, I think it might be in 3D.
